  1. I purchased this HP laptop from Fry's recently for $1399. I was looking for a desktop replacement and with a honking 200GB hard drive and 17 inch screen, it was hard to resist for the price. Beautiful fit/finish with nice gloss black touches. Perhaps after the firing of former HP boss Carla Fiorini a couple years back allowed the new mgmt team to kick it into high gear. They have figured out how to beat Dell with a combination of A marketing and quality products.
    GREAT JOB HP !!
Pro : fit/finish, screen, 200GB hard drive. scratcch resisitant case
Con : speakers very mediocre. Mostr consumers recognize Altec as a low end speaker maker anyhow
