This laptop is very affordable and easy to use. After mail-in rebate from MicroCenter it is only $749. The battery will only last about 90 minutes so be prepared to bring your cord anywhere you go. The screen is very glossy which is good, so far no dead pixels. Toshiba does throw in a lot of extras that you don't know whether to get rid of to free up space or keep because it might be needed. I haven't had to call Toshiba for support yet, which is very good. Overall, for good and affordable PC.
Pro : Affordable, light, easy to use
Con : Poor battery life, too much extras

I got this laptop to replace my ancient P4 Win2K desktop. While at first Vista was a pain in my rear, many companies have now released drivers for the software and all but 1 of my programs works. A few are buggy (foobar2000, firefox) but if you REALLY wanna run them from your old system, install Microsoft's VirtualPC. They released it so that you wouldn't have to deal with DualBooting and all that nonsense.
The only other thing is I had to buy 2 gigs of ram for this. It comes with 2 512 chips, so I couldn't buy 1 gig to add on. I had to replace it completely. Fortunately ram is very cheap on Newegg. After installing 2 gigs the system flies. I have yet to test more things on it but so far so good.
People complain about the graphics but I don't know what they're seeing that I'm not the graphics look fine to me. I'm even able to play an MMORPG game on it. Maybe the heavy gamer types might be saying these things but for watching videos and light gaming, this laptop is fine.
If you're a newbie with computers, I wouldn't recommend it because it took some work to install the ram, and configure drivers etc. But once you get it all working, it's a smooth sail.
Pro : Way faster than my P4 desktop
Con : Vista compatibility, eats ram for breakfast

I bought this laptop loaded with Windows Vista Premium Hom Edition the day they finally were able to sell the Vista products. I picked it up for under $800 at Office Max on sale and have loved it since day one. I've had it a few months now and the battery life could be better but thankfully it doesn't take forever to charge. Another great feature is being able to select your power plan which can help balance out power to everything without draining your battery dead really fast. Wouldn't want to be in the middle of a huge project and have your laptop die.
The games and programs that came preloaded on here have been handy. I mainly use my laptop for my college work and chatting once in a while. It works fine for what I need it for and is easy enough to operate without causing a headache trying to do something and getting no place fast. If you want a good laptop and don't want to pay a ton of money for one, check into the Satellite Series Notebooks.
Pro : Lightweight and Works Wonderfully
Con : Battery Life
