I own this DVD player for 4 months and it plays all DVD, VCD and MP3s. I decided to go for another one @ buy.com for $34.99. Free shipping. This unit has progressive scan and component video output that i can use with my home theater projector. Another unit I own is a Coby DVD-224 which is pretty much the same but smaller in size.
Pro : Cheap, lightweight, easy to use , play copied DVDs and hackable
Con : No display on player, minor skipping during first few MP3 songs

I have owned 3 Coby DVD players ( I have no idea why I keep buying their products). NONE of them lasted longer than 6 months. This player was only used 4 times by my family in a 4 month period and died. No whirring, won't eject the disk, nothing. The Coby products are pieces of junk. I won't buy ANYTHING made by this company!!

THE SYSTEM HAS POOR QUALITY PICTURES AND THE DRIVE TENDS TO GET STUCK WITH DVD INSIDE IT. THE DVD DIED IN 4 MONTHS AND THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED RESPONSIBILITY (REMEMBER, WARRANTY EXPIRES IN 90 DAYS!!!) OFCOURSE THEY KNOW IT FAILS RIGHT AFTER.
ADVICE: DON'T BUY UNLESS YOU GONNA RETURN IT WITHIN THE RETURN PERIOD OR YOU WANT TO PLAY 10 DVD'S AND THEN JUNK THE CRAP!!!
SUGGESTION: DON'T BUY
